Jesus, Name above all names
This whole passage talks about people being freed from their oppression. Even though it was written 740 years before Christ, it doesn’t speak just to the people of Israel, but it is written to the whole World, regarding every nation and every single person in the face of the earth.
This part of the Scripture is not simply a register of someone’s birth, but it is the fundamental principle that holds the whole World. When we talk about Jesus and His birth, we are not talking about some sort of celebrity, but a Man Who divided the human history into two parts: before Christ and after Christ. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.
Therefore, to understand the real meaning of Christmas we need to understand Jesus’ measure and His other Names also. It’s not just simple adjectives, but it is the real expression of His divinity.
